Gwangjin-gu Private Daycare Center Family Sports Day Held

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the '2023 Gwangjin-gu Private Daycare Family Sports Day' at Ttukseom Hangang Park on the 12th.

This sports day, held for the first time since COVID-19, was organized by the Gwangjin-gu Private Daycare Association (President Kim Kyung-mi) and brought together over 2,500 participants, including infants and toddlers from 30 private daycares, their families, and childcare staff, with great anticipation and interest.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, along with members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, also attended to show their support.

The event began with the athletes' parade, oath-taking by team representatives, and the opening declaration, followed by various age-appropriate physical activities such as ▲ warm-up exercises ▲ (all together) speed jump rope, big ball throwing ▲ (infant games) flag planting ▲ (preschool games) score finding ▲ (mom and dad games) tire rolling ▲ (grandparents games) I Was Once Too ▲ (all together) tug of war.

Additionally, experience booths that stimulated children's curiosity and interest were operated, including ▲ cup making, puzzle assembling ▲ soap bubble play ▲ sharing flea market ▲ and missing child prevention fingerprint experience.

Held after a long time, this meaningful sports day allowed children from private daycares to create happy memories with their families and enjoy exciting moments. Furthermore, it became a harmonious event where parents and childcare staff could communicate.

Since this sports day was for the whole family, Gwangjin-gu established a safety management plan with related organizations to ensure safe proceedings and deployed safety personnel throughout the venue. Recycling stations and food waste bins were installed to pay special attention to environmental cleanliness.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “I am glad to see children running and enjoying themselves freely through the family sports day held after a long time,” and added, “We will strive to realize healthy and happy Gwangjin families, just like the excited children.”
