Duksung Women’s University (President Kim Geon-hee) will provide '1,000 Won Breakfast' for two weeks during the second semester midterm exam period.
Son Jae-hyun, Director of the Student and Talent Development Office at Duksung Women’s University, stated on the 12th, "This semester, thanks to the donation from the Alumni Association, we are able to offer the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ '1,000 Won Breakfast.' Students will receive a high-quality breakfast at a reasonable price of 1,000 won."
Duksung Women’s University is providing the '1,000 Won Breakfast' for the second time as promised to students last semester. President Kim Geon-hee said, "Through this small initiative, we aimed to ease the financial burden of food expenses caused by high prices, support students’ hardships, and achieve both health improvement and academic performance enhancement. It is desirable for this positive project to continue and expand."
The '1,000 Won Breakfast' project at Duksung Women’s University will be offered from the 16th to the 27th during the midterm exam period at the university cafeteria, starting at 8 a.m., on a first-come, first-served basis for 100 students per day.
The feature of this '1,000 Won Breakfast' project is that a rice-centered breakfast, considering students’ preferences, will be provided. It is meaningful that the Alumni Association participated and spread this as a relay movement.
Jeong Gi-hwa, President of the Duksung Women’s University Alumni Association, said, "We joined this initiative led by the Alumni Association executives with the hope that it becomes a continuous and heartfelt project, not a one-time or showy event. Since the Department of Food and Nutrition is also carefully checking students’ nutritional balance and meal plans, there could be no healthier meal than this."
Following last semester, Duksung Women’s University expects that this small but positive relay movement will continue to spread, bringing hope to students’ vibrant university life.
