Silla University Hosts '2023 Pet Business Accelerating Week'

The Silla University Companion Animal Business Specialized I-URP Project Group is hosting the '2023 Pet Business Accelerating Week.'


The project group announced on the 12th that, reflecting the rapidly growing trend of the companion animal industry in Korea, the '2023 Pet Business Accelerating Week' will be held for three weeks starting from the 13th.


This event will take place every Friday at the Wyndham Grand Busan, and in collaboration with InfoBank Co., Ltd., a TIPS operator, systematic corporate support mentoring will be provided to nine companies related to the companion animal industry.


Additionally, the event will focus on current market trends and future prospects, covering topics such as investment attraction for companies' technology development outcomes, patent management strategies, investment attraction know-how, and business plan writing methods, with plans to offer one-on-one consulting opportunities with investors.

According to the Korea Rural Economic Institute, the domestic companion animal market size, which was 1.9 trillion won in 2015, is expected to expand to around 6 trillion won by 2027, making investment attraction a crucial task for participating companies to enter the market.


The Silla University I-URP Project Group stated that, besides the participating companies, any company interested in the companion animal industry can attend the event.


Baek Il-gwon, head of the Silla University I-URP Project Group, said, "This accelerating week event tailored to the continuously growing companion animal market will play an important role in helping companies successfully enter the market."


The Silla University I-URP Project Group is making various efforts to promote the local companion animal industry in line with the market's activation and rapid growth.
