Changwon Facilities Corporation Holds '2030 Carbon Neutral Corporation Proclamation Ceremony'

Greenhouse Gas 50% Reduction Target... Transition to Low-Carbon Energy System Structure

Changwon Facilities Corporation in Gyeongnam held the ‘2030 Carbon Neutral Corporation Leap Declaration Ceremony’ on the 11th at the Changwon Football Center Auditorium to realize a sustainable carbon-neutral city.

At the declaration ceremony, the joint labor-management carbon neutrality declaration was read with the vision of ‘Eco-friendly Corporation with Citizens,’ and through presentations of detailed strategic tasks and a bicycle riding performance, the commitment to practicing oxygen neutrality was proclaimed both internally and externally.

Based on three major strategies?▲ improving energy efficiency ▲ transitioning to eco-friendly and renewable energy ▲ improving infrastructure and raising awareness?the corporation plans to implement 30 medium- and short-term projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% in 2030 compared to 2022.

Key initiatives include implementing a company-wide greenhouse gas target management system, enhancing the efficiency of air-source heat pumps, fuel cells, and thermal water systems, expanding the distribution of solar and hydrothermal energy, and conducting energy inspections and carbon neutrality practice campaigns involving customers.

Director Kim Jonghae stated, “We will transform the corporation’s entire energy system into a low-carbon structure and lead the way as a green corporation that promotes carbon neutrality by encouraging citizen participation.”

Jo Seonghwan, Director of the City Climate and Environment Bureau, said in his congratulatory speech, “I hope that the declaration of carbon neutrality implementation by Changwon Facilities Corporation will serve as a catalyst to spread the will to practice carbon neutrality throughout society.”

Jang Donghwa, Director of Changwon Industry Promotion Agency, said, “With today’s declaration ceremony as a starting point, the corporation and Changwon Industry Promotion Agency will join forces to take the lead in realizing a sustainable carbon-neutral city.”

Prior to the declaration ceremony, the corporation signed a business agreement with Changwon Industry Promotion Agency and agreed to carry out various activities to practice carbon neutrality through close cooperation.
