Daedong Hospital Selected as Panel Hospital for Integrated Nursing Care Service

Daedong Hospital was selected as a panel hospital for the Integrated Nursing Care Service by the National Health Insurance Service on the 6th.

The Integrated Nursing Care Service is a program where professional nursing staff provide 24-hour care without the presence of guardians or caregivers.

Daedong Hospital has been operating the program since 2016 and was recognized as a model institution for exemplary operation of the Integrated Nursing Care Service after being selected as a leading hospital by the National Health Insurance Service in 2022.

Additionally, to support stable bed expansion and improve the quality of inpatient services for newly participating and existing hospitals in the Integrated Nursing Care Service, Daedong Hospital provided education, on-site visits, and consulting, sharing operational experience and practical know-how.

The recruitment target for this project includes medical institutions that operate more than 50% of their total licensed beds as Integrated Nursing Care Service wards and have been operating for more than one year. For general wards, designated beds must be 200 or more, and rehabilitation wards must be rehabilitation medical institutions designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The National Health Insurance Service selected a total of 25 medical institutions considering regional zones, types, and institutional characteristics, including 20 medical institutions operating general wards and 5 operating rehabilitation wards.

These medical institutions, recognized as excellent institutions with exemplary experience in operating Integrated Nursing Care Service wards, will serve as panel hospitals for two years starting in 2024.

Panel hospitals will act as a sample group to conduct surveys on appropriate staffing of nurses, nursing assistants, ward support personnel, and ward environment improvements, collecting field opinions to prepare basic data for policy development.

Furthermore, medical institutions designated as panel hospitals will receive an additional 2 points in the 2024 Integrated Nursing Care Service performance evaluation incentive indicators.

Jung Mi-jin, head of nursing at Daedong Hospital, said, “It is very meaningful to be recognized for our efforts to establish a patient-centered medical system and improve the quality of nursing care by being selected as a panel hospital in the first project implemented by the National Health Insurance Service.”

She added, “We will actively participate in this project to advance patient-centered medical services to the next level and do our best to provide the best nursing care services to customers visiting Daedong Hospital.”

Daedong Hospital’s Integrated Nursing Care Service wards started with one ward and a total of 36 beds in 2016, and have added beds annually. Currently, excluding the intensive care unit and infection wards, the hospital operates a total of 373 beds across 9 wards.
