Ulsan Nambu Fire Station and Coast Guard Joint 'Ship Fire' Drill

Ulsan Nambu Fire Station (Chief Kim Gyu-ju) will conduct a joint training exercise with the Ulsan Coast Guard on the afternoon of the 12th at 1:30 PM at the Yebuseon Pier in Hwangseong-dong, Nam-gu, to respond to ship fires.

The training will involve six pieces of equipment (1 water tanker, 2 command vehicles, 2 pump trucks, 1 coastal rescue boat) and 20 personnel from Nambu Fire Station and the Ulsan Coast Guard.

Responding to ship fires requires collaboration between the Coast Guard and the fire department, so the exercise will simulate a fire occurring on a docked ship from both maritime and land perspectives, conducting realistic training.

A representative from Nambu Fire Station stated, “Ships are vulnerable to fire due to their material characteristics, and rapid fire spread can cause significant secondary damage, so quick response is crucial. We will maintain a collaborative system and conduct efficient suppression operations to minimize damage from ship fires.”
