On the 10th at 10:30 AM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2023 Middle-aged Single-person Household Gochujang Sharing' event held at the main auditorium of Nowon District Office in Seoul.
The district has 20,822 middle-aged single-person households living alone (10,060 men, 10,762 women, accounting for 12.6%), requiring continuous attention. Accordingly, the Nowon 50 Plus Center conducted a talent donation and food sharing event for middle-aged single-person households through its Community Talent Donation Project Team.
On this day, about 100 members of the Community Talent Donation Project Team at Nowon 50 Plus Center made gochujang (fermented red chili paste) themselves and distributed it to 300 middle-aged single-person households living alone in the area as a local volunteer activity.
The event proceeded in the order of project introduction, greetings, gochujang sharing ceremony, and gochujang making, attended by Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, and members of the Community Talent Donation Project Team from Nowon 50 Plus Center.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon District said, "The traditional gochujang sharing by Nowon 50 Plus Center for middle-aged single-person households living alone in the area, who are struggling to purchase ingredients due to rising prices, is a meaningful act of love that started from a warm heart to provide healthy food." He added, "We will continue to carefully manage support projects for low-income vulnerable residents and strive to create a happy Nowon."
