Israel Discovers 1,500 Hamas Fighters' Bodies
The death toll from the war between Israel and the Palestinian armed faction Hamas has surpassed 1,600. Apart from the casualty counts from both sides, the Israeli military has discovered 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants, and airstrikes on the Gaza Strip continue, so the number of casualties is expected to rise further.
According to major foreign media on the 10th (local time), the Israeli government announced that about 900 people have died and more than 2,400 have been injured due to Hamas's attacks so far.
The death toll increased as the situation in the southern region, where Hamas infiltrated, was brought under control, including the discovery of an additional 100 bodies in the Be'eri kibbutz in southern Israel.
Israel stated that it has completely secured the border area with the Gaza Strip and regained control over most of the southern region. During this process, about 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants were also found.
The death toll is also rising in the Palestinian Gaza Strip. According to the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health, 704 people have died due to Israeli attacks. This includes many children, adolescents, and women. The number of injured reached 3,726. Since Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Hamas, concentrated airstrikes have continued, causing a surge in casualties.
Accordingly, the death toll on both sides of Israel and the Gaza Strip has exceeded at least 1,600, and the number of injured has surpassed 6,000.
Many journalists have also been killed. According to foreign media, three Palestinian journalists covering the situation in the Gaza Strip were killed by Israeli airstrikes on this day. They were reportedly caught in the attack while covering the Israeli airstrikes on residential buildings. Hamas stated that this has increased the number of Palestinian journalist deaths to seven.
Meanwhile, Israel declared a full blockade of the Gaza Strip and continued retaliatory airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on this day as well. Israel struck 1,000 targets since launching a counterattack on the 7th, including 200 locations the previous night. According to the United Nations, Israeli airstrikes damaged 790 houses and 5,300 buildings in the Gaza Strip. About 400,000 residents are reportedly suffering from water outages.
Hamas threatened that if Israel continues its bombing amid the growing civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip, it will execute Israeli civilian hostages as a retaliatory measure.
