Leading Role in Development Projects Addressing Local Issues
Establishing a Virtuous Cycle System for Reinvesting Development Profits into Regional Development
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk announced a new beginning for Gumi Urban Corporation to ensure the smooth progress of current projects.
Gumi Urban Corporation completed its establishment registration on September 27 after undergoing organizational restructuring from Gumi Facilities Corporation and held its inauguration ceremony on the 10th.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by about 150 people, including Mayor Kim Jang-ho, City Council Chairman Ahn Joo-chan, city council members, and officials from Gumi Urban Corporation, adding prestige to the event.
Founded in 1999 as the Parking Facilities Corporation and contributing to the convenience and welfare of citizens, Gumi Facilities Corporation will now break away from the limitations of its previous consignment business model and proactively lead development projects tailored to local issues. It is expected to play a pivotal role in helping Gumi City leap forward as the central city of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport economic zone.
With the organizational restructuring, the corporation plans to supplement personnel in the newly established Development Project Division and promote city-led development projects such as urban development and general industrial complex development. It will establish a virtuous cycle system that reinvests development profits into regional development, fulfilling its role as a specialized organization responsive to Gumi City's urban management and development policies.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, “I congratulate the launch of Gumi Urban Corporation and thank everyone who actively supported the successful transition of the corporation. In this meaningful year when Gumi is making a new leap forward with defense, semiconductors, and the integrated new airport, the launch of the urban corporation holds even more special significance. I look forward to Gumi Urban Corporation’s role as a partner working together for the re-creation of Gumi.”
