Hanmi Group Celebrates 50th Anniversary... Bonuses for All Employees and Awards for Long-Term Service

Hanmi Group announced on the 10th that it held an internal event including the 'Proud Hanmi Award' ceremony and long-term service awards at its headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the 6th, a day before the 50th anniversary of its founding.

The Proud Hanmi Award, selected annually by Hanmi Pharmaceutical Chairwoman Song Young-sook from among the group’s employees, increased the number of recipients to five this year in celebration of the 50th anniversary. On this day, a special bonus commemorating the 50th anniversary was paid to about 3,700 Hanmi Group employees, and awards were also given to 146 long-term employees.

Before the award ceremony, Chairwoman Song delivered a commemorative speech titled "A New 50 Years: Leap Forward as a Global Healthcare Leading Pharmaceutical Company with Creativity, Innovation, and a Spirit of Challenge," urging employees to "become the new protagonists of Hanmi’s next 50 years of history." She emphasized, "The past 50 years of Hanmi’s history has become the history of the development of the Korean pharmaceutical industry itself. From now on, we must rise to the position of a 'global healthcare leading pharmaceutical company,' which we have not yet achieved in the past 50 years. Research and Development (R&D), global business, and digital healthcare will be the core growth engines of the new 50 years."

Chairwoman Song continued, "Hanmi will be a strong support system for the lives of all employees. Within this, I hope you will freely pursue your dreams. Your vigorous progress and achievements will become Hanmi’s brilliant future."

At the '4th Proud Hanmi Award Ceremony' held that morning, five group employees received the Proud Hanmi Award: Yu Seung-hyun, Team Leader of the Compliance Team at Hanmi Pharmaceutical; Lee Jeong-han, Group Leader of the Quality Team in the Manufacturing Headquarters at Hanmi Pharmaceutical; Kim Ji-yeon, Group Leader of the CDMO Team at the R&D Center of Hanmi Precision Chemical; Lee Won-gyun, Cell Leader of the Pharmacy Sales Department at Online Pharm; and Choi Jae-ho, Team Leader of the Research Planning Team at the R&D Center of JVM.

The Proud Hanmi Award was established in 2020 by Chairwoman Song’s intention to reward employees who have achieved outstanding results based on the group’s core values of creativity, innovation, and a spirit of challenge. In line with her desire to discover and encourage frontline workers who quietly produce results behind the scenes, recipients are selected from employees excluding executives.

This year’s recipient Yu Seung-hyun of Hanmi Pharmaceutical was recognized for contributing to obtaining and maintaining the highest CP grade AAA certification awarded by the Fair Trade Commission. Group Leader Lee Jeong-han was acknowledged for his contributions to GMP certification and maintaining cooperative relationships with overseas partners. Group Leader Kim Ji-yeon of Hanmi Precision Chemical smoothly conducted CMC research for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) fast-track designation of Tuspetinib, which was licensed out to partner Aptose, and contributed to securing CMC-related research contracts and promoting contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) business. Cell Leader Lee Won-gyun of Online Pharm achieved the top pharmacy sales performance this year, and Team Leader Choi Jae-ho of JVM contributed to customer consulting for the next-generation robotic automatic dispensing machine 'MENITH' and strengthening product competitiveness.

Additionally, the long-term service awards held consecutively on the same day were given to 146 employees who have served for 10, 20, and 30 years. Pure gold and plaques of appreciation were presented according to years of service.

Meanwhile, Hanmi Group’s legal founding date is June 15, 1973. However, following the will of the late founder Lim Seong-gi, who believed that "the true founding anniversary of a pharmaceutical company is the day its first product is launched," Hanmi Group officially commemorates the first Saturday of October, when the company’s first product 'TS San' was released, as its founding day.
