Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Operates Family and Women Safe Accommodation Facilities

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 9th that it will designate and operate 'Safe Accommodation Facilities.'

Safe Accommodation Facilities are lodging establishments certified by Gwangsan-gu to be used with peace of mind without fear of crime, aiming to enhance the area's image and encourage revisits.

The district previously recruited participating businesses and selected three establishments (Madrid Hotel, Aura Hotel, Olle Motel) as Safe Accommodation Facilities through on-site visits by an evaluation team, ensuring family- and women-friendly environments.

The three selected locations will display the Gwangsan-gu Safe Accommodation Facility sign. They provide differentiated lodging environments and services such as private rooms (floors), illegal camera detection, women-only parking spaces and valet parking, and installation of safety emergency bells.

The district plans to support promotion through its official website.

A district official stated, “We will do our best to create and manage a lodging environment where tourists visiting Gwangsan-gu can feel safe and want to return.”
