Mokpo City to Light Up Autumn Nights with 500 Drones

A Spectacular Swarm Drone Show to Adorn the Autumn Night Sky

Public Transportation Recommended Due to Expected Traffic Congestion

The 2023 Mokpo Sunset Drone Light Show will welcome citizens and tourists from the 6th to the 8th at Bukhang Sunset Park.

According to the city on the 5th, this drone show will feature a swarm of 500 drones, brilliantly decorating the autumn night sky of Mokpo and captivating the hearts of the audience.

Cultural and artistic performances that will brighten the event alongside the drone show have also been prepared. On the 6th, singers Kim Hee-jae, Ryu Won-jeong, Kim Da-na, Jung Da-han, and Choi Na-ri will take the stage; on the 7th, Kisum, Heo Seong-hyun, and MC Gree will perform; and on the 8th, Four Men, Kim Yeon-ji (SeeYa), Lee Ah-young, and Yoon Sung-gi will hold concerts.

Additionally, experience booths that were popular in previous events (drone basketball, drone simulation, drone fishing, balloon popping, obstacle racing, 3D pen experience) have been prepared so that all generations, young and old, can enjoy them.

In connection with the ‘2022?2023 Jeollanam-do Year of Visit,’ the event will introduce and promote the tourism resources of Jeonnam and Mokpo, and a separate National Sports Festival Promotion Booth will be operated to widely publicize the two major sports events held in Mokpo in October and November.

Mayor Park Hong-ryul said, “Through the Sunset Drone Light Show, which has established itself as a nighttime tourism content of Mokpo, I hope everyone enjoys exciting performances with their loved ones and creates unforgettable memories while watching the spectacular drone show.”

He added, “Since traffic congestion is expected during the event period, please use public transportation as much as possible,” and “The city will cooperate with related organizations to ensure perfect safety, striving to make the event a joyful and accident-free venue.”

Meanwhile, the drone show, which was inevitably canceled in the first half of the year due to bad weather, is scheduled to be held once more on Saturday, November 11, following the October event.
