An active-duty Army soldier nearing discharge visited a cafe in Seoul and was moved by a warm message written on his drink cup by a part-time worker.

On the 4th, a story from Sergeant A, an active-duty Army soldier about to be discharged, was posted on the Facebook page 'Delivering Messages from the Army Training Center' (Yukdaejeon).

Two months ago, on a weekend outing, Mr. A, who went to a franchise coffee shop near his home in Nowon-gu, Seoul, with his mother, found the phrase "Thank you for protecting our country" written on the plastic lid of his drink.

Two months ago, Sergeant A went out on a weekend with his mother and visited a franchise coffee shop near their home in Nowon-gu, Seoul. He said, "After choosing my menu, picking up the order, and coming home, I found something written on the cup holder."

Upon checking the drink again, Sergeant A discovered the phrase "Thank you for protecting our country" written on the plastic lid.

Sergeant A wrote, "As a soldier of the Republic of Korea Army, it was the first time someone expressed gratitude to me," adding, "I felt that the world is still vast and warm, and I was comforted by that one sentence."

He continued, "Recently, there have been many heartbreaking incidents involving fellow soldiers, but there are still many warm-hearted people in the world," and added, "I am sharing this story to wish for the safe discharge of all military personnel."

The employee who wrote the message was a woman in her 20s working part-time, and it was reported that she recently quit the cafe job.

Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as "Small acts of kindness create deep impressions," "Let's support her with our spending," and "Leaving such a message is a courageous act."

Meanwhile, messages like this are relatively common in the United States. When Americans encounter soldiers, they express gratitude by saying, "Thank you for your service."

This means "Thank you for your hard work." In response, soldiers say, "Thank you for your support," meaning "Thank you for your support."

Additionally, in the U.S., it is common for someone to pay for a soldier's meal at a restaurant.
