Senior Research Fellow Seung has served as a member of the Prime Minister's Office Child Policy Coordination Committee, a substitute service review member at the Military Manpower Administration, and an advisory member for prosecution policy at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. Last year, he also worked as a specialist at the Presidential Transition Committee of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.
The Director of Human Rights is responsible for establishing, overseeing, and coordinating national human rights policies. The position had been vacant for nearly eight months since former Director Wi Eun-jin, a lawyer appointed during the Moon Jae-in administration, resigned in February.
