21 Dead in Italy Tour Bus Crash... "No Korean Victims"

A tourist bus crash near Venice in northern Italy resulted in 21 deaths, but there are no reported Korean casualties.


The Consulate General in Milan announced on the 4th (local time) that this was confirmed after receiving a response from the spokesperson office of the Venice Provincial Police Agency.


According to major local media, the accident occurred around 7:45 PM the previous day on an elevated road connecting Venice and the Mestre area. The tourist bus, traveling on the road, hit the guardrail and fell 15 meters below before being engulfed in flames.


The bus was carrying a total of 39 people, including Ukrainian group tourists, Germans, French, Croatians, Spaniards, and Austrians.


So far, 21 people have died in the accident. Among the deceased were two children and one teenager. Fifteen injured individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment, with five of them in critical condition.


A Venice city official stated that the tourist bus was returning from the historic district of Venice to a campsite near the Marghera area. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been disclosed.
