About 100 people are expected to participate in the event, including members of Geulbal, a soccer team composed of poets, members of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Writers' Association, students from the Creative Writing Department at Gwangju University, humanities academy attendees, and local residents.

The Nam-gu Humanities Festival will be divided into two parts and will last about 3 hours and 30 minutes.

In the first part, there will be an appointment ceremony for the advisory committee for the creation of Nam-gu as a humanities city, a book donation ceremony by literary figures, and a poetry recital.

Nam-gu will appoint poet Kim Wang-no, who serves as a director of the Korea Poets Association and the representative of the poet soccer team Geulbal, along with the soccer team members, as advisory committee members for the creation of Nam-gu as a humanities city.

The poet soccer team Geulbal, established in 1991, is a group where poets active nationwide strengthen their camaraderie through soccer and communicate through literature. Currently, it includes poets affiliated with the Korea Poets Association, former and current journalists, critics, publishing company representatives, and active teachers.

They play a role in promoting Nam-gu through literary activities and advising on culture and the arts in general.

After the appointment ceremony, a book donation ceremony by literary figures will take place. Members of the poet soccer team Geulbal and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Writers' Association will donate 150 signed books to Nam-gu, which will be placed in the book cafe on the first floor of the Nam-gu Office.

The second part of the event is expected to be filled with soccer matches aimed at fostering friendship and activating humanities communication between literary figures and local residents.

Four teams?the poet soccer team Geulbal, the Nam-gu Office civil servants soccer team, Nam-gu Women’s FC, and the Gwangju University Creative Writing Department soccer team?will participate to add excitement to the festival.

A Nam-gu official said, "This will be an opportunity for active communication among Korea’s representative literary figures, Nam-gu Humanities Academy attendees, and local residents," and added, "We ask for the interest and participation of those who are interested in the humanities."
