The Nation's Largest Marine Science Research Complex Festival
Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, will hold the "1st Korea Marine Science Industry Festival with GMSP" for two days from the 6th to the 7th at the Jukbyeon-myeon Marine Science Research Complex (GMSP).
The 1st Korea Marine Science Industry Festival was originally scheduled for July 28. However, the festival was canceled due to casualties and property damage caused by heavy rain at that time, and after consultations with related organizations, the festival was rescheduled.
This event is held to promote Uljin-gun, the largest marine science industry hub in the country, and features an industrial exhibition hall with participation from over 20 institutions and companies related to the marine science industry, the Gyeongbuk Marine Science Forum, hands-on experiences using coding robots, marine police experiences, lectures and experiments with marine science experts, a special lecture by Lee Jaebeom of the science YouTube channel "1 Minute Science," and various events such as research vessel boarding experiences.
County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, "It is very meaningful that the largest marine science festival in the country is held in Uljin-gun. Various hands-on and educational programs that everyone from young to old can enjoy are prepared, so we hope for active participation. We will also strive to make this a representative festival of Uljin, the center of Korea's marine science industry."
