On the morning of the 4th, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced the "2024 Academic Year Public and Private Secondary School Teachers, Health, Librarian, Professional Counselor, Nutrition, and Special (Secondary) Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive Examination Implementation Plan" on the office's website.
This selection will recruit a total of 530 public and private secondary school teachers.
For public schools, reflecting retirements and honorary retirements, 340 secondary school teachers, 5 special (secondary) teachers, 13 health (elementary) teachers, 12 health (secondary) teachers, 10 nutrition teachers, 4 librarians, and 35 professional counselors will be selected across 34 subjects, totaling 419 teachers. This is an increase of 89 compared to last year and 2 more than the number previously announced in August.
Private schools will select 111 teachers in 22 subjects through the first and second exams (partially) commissioned to 43 corporations.
Among the commissioned corporations, 12 have applied for the "Simultaneous Public and Private Support System." Accordingly, applicants who applied for public school teachers as their first choice may also apply to these private school corporations as their second choice if they wish.
Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. on the 16th until 6 p.m. on the 20th via the NEIS online teacher recruitment system. The first exam will be held on November 25, and successful candidates will be announced on December 28.
The second exam will take place over two days starting January 23 of next year, with practical evaluations conducted on January 17. The final successful candidates are scheduled to be announced on February 8 of next year.
This appointment exam consists of educational theory majors for the first exam, and lesson plan preparation, teaching demonstrations, and in-depth interviews for the second exam. Music, art, physical education, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and information/computer subjects will also have separate practical evaluations.
