Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it is hastening preparations for the floral autumn festival, the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival (Chrysanthemum Festival)'.
The 2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival, themed 'Rest and Leisure with Autumn Flowers,' will be held for 10 days from the 20th to the 29th at the Hwasun Dolmen Park area.
This year's autumn flower festival, moved to the World Megalith Theme Park as the main venue, is passionately preparing to welcome guests by creating flower fields with massive plantings and sowings of chrysanthemums (400,000 plants), sunflowers (103,000 plants), and ornamental crops (870 million plants) across a 15-hectare exhibition area, as well as establishing a 2km barefoot walking course.
◆ KBC Opening Celebration Show - 'Hwasun Residents' Harmony Event' from 2 PM to 5 PM on the 21st
Featuring Kim Yong-im, Na Tae-joo, Tae, Ryu Ji-kwang, and Brave Girls
On the 21st, the opening ceremony of the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival,' a festival for community harmony, will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM at the World Megalith Theme Park.
The KBC Opening Celebration Show, which will brilliantly decorate the opening ceremony, will feature singers such as Kim Yong-im, Na Tae-joo, Tae, Ryu Ji-kwang, and Brave Girls, creating a joyful and harmonious event with the residents.
The opening celebration show is expected to create a grand spectacle by filling the outdoor lawn plaza of the World Megalith Theme Park with 4,000 seats.
In particular, food trucks and various experience booths will be arranged around the World Megalith Theme Park, which boasts a magnificent view with a pine hill swaying with cosmos flowers as the backdrop, and the prehistoric experience center to cater to visitors' tastes.
The pre-opening performance will feature the Hwasun Middle School Orchestra team, composed of 30 elite members.

Throughout the festival grounds... 'Reply Kim Sat-gat!!' performance with tourists
The festival's performance events are richly prepared with a total of nine programs, including the main stage at the World Megalith Theme Park, designated venues such as the historic reservoir and Chunyang Pavilion, and spontaneous surprise performances held throughout the festival grounds.
The main stage at the World Megalith Theme Park, used as the first performance venue, will operate daily during the festival period as the exclusive stage for talented musicians, hosting the opening ceremony, opening celebration show, 2023 DM concert, Hwasun Sori Ae Orchestra, Dolmen Busking GO GO, and Jinseon's Show Show Show!.
The second venue, the historic reservoir, will host nature-friendly performances such as classical and acoustic guitar busking, operating for five days including weekends during the festival.
The third designated venue, Chunyang Pavilion, is an exclusive stage for local singers, passionately creating an exciting festival atmosphere with a fiery trot program, also operating for five days including weekends during the festival.
A unique performance, 'Back to the JS Reply Kim Sat-gat!!,' is a communication performance prepared to entertain tourists anywhere in Dogok. It is scheduled to be performed eight times over four weekend days, twice daily.
Actors dressed as the distinctive Joseon-era character Kim Sat-gat appear throughout the event grounds, not just on stage, adding fun with prepared choreography and offering tourists opportunities for photos together.
Especially, the '1st Dolmen Music Concert (2023 DM)' held from 2 PM to 5 PM on the 22nd at the main stage of the World Megalith Theme Park will feature Shin Yong-jae, Park Jae-jung, Daybreak, So Chan-hwi, Lee Jung-kwon, Sunflower, and Begin Again, delivering an exciting and dynamic performance.
◆ 'Gong Jeong-sik National Song Festival' with composer Gong Jeong-sik from Dong-myeon, Hwasun
Featuring a 'super-luxury' lineup including Kim Yong-im, Bobby Kim, Yang Ji-eun, Kim Da-hyun, Hwang Min-ho, Jo Seung-gu, and Kim Bo-sung
Additionally, on the 25th from 5 PM to 8 PM, the 'Gong Jeong-sik National Song Festival' will be held on the main stage of the World Megalith Theme Park with composer Gong Jeong-sik, a native of Dong-myeon, Hwasun.
The invited singers for the day include a super-luxury lineup of Kim Yong-im, Bobby Kim, Yang Ji-eun, Yang Ji-won, Kim Da-hyun, Hwang Min-ho, Jo Seung-gu, Jung Jung-ah, An Da-mi, and Kim Bo-seop.
The first part (preliminary round), held from 11 AM to 6 PM on the 21st at the Hanium Culture and Sports Center Manyeon Hall, is confirmed as a Gwangju MBC radio public broadcast, featuring many promising singers such as Napalbak, Dongdong Opera Troupe, Jung Gyu-ri, Kim Soon-joo, Jeon Bi-joo, Jin Min-hwa, Im Geum-nim, Lee Mi-na, Hwang Cheol-ho, Ji Su-yang, and Lee Hye-young.
The grand prize of the 'Gong Jeong-sik National Song Festival' offers a prize of 5 million won and an opportunity to receive a new song from composer Gong, which is expected to attract many participants nationwide.

The exhibition sector of the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival' focuses on promoting the charm and lifestyle of Hwasun by setting up spaces at three festival locations.
At Dogok Lawn Plaza, the Chrysanthemum Bonsai Research Association will exhibit various bonsai chrysanthemums with themes and artistic value. At Chunyang Pavilion, various agricultural tools symbolizing farming life will be displayed, allowing easy access to the traditional agricultural culture passed down from ancestors.
Outside the pavilion, a nostalgic chrysanthemum festival photo exhibition will be set up to allow visitors to appreciate annual records of the chrysanthemum festival through photographs.
Also, at Wolgok Reservoir, there will be a wood carving exhibition where writings or drawings are engraved on wood, a bonsai exhibition featuring high-quality bonsai art, and a poetry and literary exhibition by the Hwasun Writers Association.

At the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival,' special attention was given to 18 experience programs, including barefoot walking, with booths set up and operated at five festival locations considering tourists' preferences.
Programs at each experience site include six programs at the World Megalith Theme Park: making chrysanthemum LED lights, making chrysanthemum scent pouches, operating an eco zone, making chrysanthemum herbariums, caricature drawing experience, and chrysanthemum planting and sales. The healing zone, offering various health exercises such as yoga and zumba dance, is operated at Bogumjae.
For tired tourists, three booths are set up at Chunyang Pavilion: dry foot bath experience with subtle chrysanthemum scent, traditional wedding costume photo shoots dressing visitors in traditional wedding attire, and meridian massage manual therapy to relieve daily stress and fatigue.
Additionally, at Dogok Lawn Plaza, five programs are operated: enjoying the splendor of the chrysanthemum-decorated sky swing, taking memorable photos with a customized frame at the Hwasun Mirim Sky Swing Chrysanthemum Festival, air bounce and dinosaur costume experience at the kids zone, pet zone with a pet shelter and playground facilities, chrysanthemum flower carriage experience, and the 'Worry No No Mailbox' where visitors write worries on photo postcards and put them into a mailbox sculpture to relieve stress.
Moreover, the 'Visiting Rural Experience' allows visitors to experience excellent agricultural, fishery, and forest products of Hwasun at nearby farms.
Especially, a Dolmen Tour (exploration) bus operates between Dogok and Chunyang sections.

Among the attractions and entertainment at the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival,' the food sector, centered on food trucks, is expected to be very popular. This year, sales booths are set up at five festival locations to enhance visitor convenience.
In particular, food truck booths offering finger food-style snacks such as beverages in small packages are arranged throughout the festival grounds, allowing visitors to eat and enjoy freely.
There will be an agricultural specialty product market selling excellent local products of Hwasun, a local residents' market led by residents of Dogok and Chunyang areas around the festival grounds, and local cuisine booths operated by Hwasun restaurants selling alcoholic beverages and food.
Additionally, single-item food booths offering conveniently packaged food will be operated separately.
◆ Diverse side events at the festival

Side events of the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival' include the National Youth Dance Competition, where young people nationwide can freely express their talents and enthusiasm, held at the World Megalith Theme Park; the 'Korea Orchid National Exhibition' and the '1st Lee Yong-dae Cup National Sports Badminton Tournament' held at Hanium to promote the excellence of Hwasun's native spring orchids and activate tourism.
Also, at the festival grounds, the 'Children's Story Drawing Contest' to promote children's rights and the 'Hwasun County Governor's Hiking Competition' to activate the hiking trails of the Hwasun Dolmen Historic Site will be held.
◆ Seven parking lots with a total capacity of 1,700 cars: six in Dogok, one in Chunyang
Parking lots have been secured at seven locations with a total capacity of 1,700 cars?six in Dogok-myeon and one in Chunyang-myeon?to prepare for traffic congestion.
However, the parking lot in front of the Dogok General Information Center is reserved exclusively for the elderly, disabled, and pregnant women.
