KDCA to Import Initial 400,000 Doses of Moderna Vaccine

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced that an initial batch of 400,000 doses of the Moderna XBB.1.5 variant-targeted vaccine for the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccination season will be introduced on the 4th.


The Moderna variant-targeted vaccine XBB.1.5 received emergency use authorization from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 26th of last month. Approximately 5 million doses are expected to be introduced sequentially.

All 10 million doses of the Pfizer XBB.1.5 variant-targeted vaccine, agreed upon with the pharmaceutical company, were fully introduced last month.


The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency stated that it will continue to make every effort to ensure a smooth supply of vaccines throughout the vaccination period according to the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccination plan.
