‘2023 Dobong Green Music Donghaeng Festa’ Featuring Jaurim, Sohyang, and More Held

Dobong-gu to Host '2023 Dobong Green Music Donghaeng Festa' on October 6-7 with Special Stage on Seed Cube Changdong Road Featuring Nationwide Children's Chorus Contest, Celebration Performances, Local Artists, and Family-Friendly Music Festival

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will hold the ‘2023 Dobong Green Music Donghaeng Festa’ for two days from October 6 to 7 at the special stage on the road in front of Seed Cube Changdong (Changdong 1-12).

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “This very place where the festa is held, Dobong-gu Changdong New Economy Cultural Industry District, will become the undisputed mecca of K-POP in Korea with the construction of Seoul Arena,” adding, “Through this festa, which features various performances and events, we will be able to see the future of ‘Cultural City, Dobong.’”

This festival, held for the first time this year, is themed ‘Dobong Painted with Music’ and aims to capture the diverse aspects of Dobong where nature, people, and art harmonize through music. It is composed of various performances that residents visiting the festival can enjoy, including the 1st National Children’s Children’s Song Choir Contest, invited singer congratulatory performances, and performances by local artists.

On the first day of the festival, the program starts with pre-performances by local artists such as magic, belly dance, and folk songs, followed by a stage by the municipal art troupe and a K-POP Donghaeng concert featuring singers ‘Jaurim’ and ‘Shin Yong-jae,’ as well as a dance performance by Seoul’s representative b-boy crew ‘Gambler Crew.’

On the second day, the finals will be held for 10 teams that passed the preliminary round of the ‘1st National Children’s Children’s Song Choir Contest’ held on the 22nd. Through a children’s song contest themed on ‘environment,’ the importance of environmental protection, the theme of the festival, will be reaffirmed, and audiences will enjoy cute yet high-quality performances by leading elementary school choirs nationwide. Along with this, congratulatory performances by singer ‘Sohyang,’ the Korean traditional arts troupe ‘Little Angels Arts Troupe’ composed of elementary and middle school students, and the eternal hero of elementary school students ‘Beongaeman’ will captivate the eyes and ears of festival visitors from children to adults.

Various side events that satisfy the five senses of visitors will also be prepared during the festival period. Experience programs related to music and the environment will be operated, including making your own instrument to enjoy music together, a beautiful street piano anyone can play, sock yarn crafts combined with recycling for environmental awareness, and coffee grounds keyring making. The operating hours are from 12 PM to 6 PM.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We have prepared for a long time to provide new and diverse enjoyment to the residents. I hope all visitors to the festival have a happy time,” adding, “We will continue to prepare richer cultural performances for the ‘Cultural City, Dobong’ expanding globally.”

Meanwhile, from 11 PM on October 5, the day before the festival, until 8 AM on October 8, the day after the festival, some roads (from Changdong Station Overpass Intersection to Changdong Transfer Parking Lot Intersection) will be fully closed. A festival official said, “This is a measure for the smooth progress of the festival and the safety of visitors, so we ask for your cooperation and understanding.”
