Exchanging Holiday Greetings and Encouragement with Workers in Various Livelihood Sectors During On-Site Visits... Emphasizing the Role of District Administration Without Gaps Even During Long Holidays
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa District, did not visit his hometown or take a comfortable vacation like others during the Chuseok holiday. Instead, he visited various field sites where workers were diligently on duty to ensure that residents could spend the holiday without worries, encouraging their hard work.
On the morning of the 2nd, Mayor Seo visited Garak-dong and met with environmental officers who worked hard to maintain a pleasant street environment throughout the long holiday, expressing his appreciation for their efforts.
As he had always emphasized that "cleanliness is the top priority in urban administration" in district governance, he first rushed to the field to check and thank those responsible for street cleanliness, ensuring there was no gap in cleaning operations during the holiday.
Next, at the Songpa CCTV Control Center in Jamsil-dong, four police officers and dedicated control center staff were on duty. They worked in two shifts, 24 hours a day, without a single day off during the holiday period, with a total of about 50 personnel safeguarding citizens' safety day and night.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa District, said, "Rapid response by related agencies in case of disasters or emergencies is a key factor that can determine the safety of residents on the line," comforting the workers for their hard work and once again urging them to perform their duties perfectly until the very end.
The last place visited that day was the Songpa-gu Senior Care Center located in Jangji-dong.
Operating since 2009, this facility specializes in elderly care and rehabilitation programs, currently accommodating about 110 residents undergoing care.
One of the residents, 81-year-old Mr. Kim, said, "The facility staff always treat us well, but the unexpected visit from the district mayor during the potentially lonely holiday was very welcome," and expressed gratitude, saying, "I am truly thankful to be able to stay in such a good care center."
After the visit, Mayor Seo Gang-seok said, "I would like to express my gratitude to the environmental officers and facility workers who worked hard in various public service sectors during this Chuseok holiday," adding, "The district will continue to practice a service-oriented administration that proactively resolves inconveniences so that no one is left out, anytime and anywhere."
