"'Disgusting' 'Stop Showing Off' Gaeddal Texts... 'Scream' Lee Won-wook: 'Lee, Stop Being the "Jae-myeong Village Chief"'"

Lee Won-wook "Jaemyeong's Cafe Becomes a Cradle of Hate Politics"

Lee Won-wook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) considered to be in the pro-Lee Jae-myung (Bi Lee Jae-myung) faction, raised his voice by revealing the critical messages he received from 'Gaeddal,' the hardline supporters of Lee Jae-myung, the DPK leader, during the Chuseok holiday period, saying, "The 'Jaemyeongine Village' cafe, where Lee Jae-myung serves as the village chief, has become a hotbed of hate politics."

On the 2nd, Lee posted on his Facebook, "It is distressing to think about what children might learn if they see such expressions," adding, "One of the biggest reasons why Leader Lee should step down as the chief of 'Jaemyeongine Village'."

According to Lee, Gaeddal sent him messages mixed with criticism and ridicule during the Chuseok holiday, such as "Leave the Democratic Party," "Watermelon" (a derogatory term for Bi Lee Jae-myung faction lawmakers), and "People Power Party Lee Won-wook."

Lee pointed out, "After the presidential election, the term 'Gaeddal,' which was proudly used within the 'lost but fought well' (Jutjalssa) context, has become a source of national disgust," and added, "During the leader's hunger strike, there was also a violent incident involving two individuals who were clearly Gaeddal or Gaemo (Gaeddal aunt) or Gaesamchon (Gaeddal uncle), even though they are middle-aged."

He continued, "Because of this, citizens tried to distance themselves from political issues during the holiday, and the view counts of YouTube videos related to Leader Lee or President Yoon decreased by 40-44% compared to the daily average in September during the Chuseok holiday," saying, "Politics has become a source of fatigue to be avoided rather than hope."

Regarding Leader Lee’s proposal for a summit meeting with President Yoon Seok-youl, Lee said, "The ruling party’s reaction was expected, and Leader Lee probably did not think the president would accept it," emphasizing the need for the Democratic Party’s concern for people’s livelihoods.

Lee stated, "If we want to win the general election not by the reflexive benefits of President Yoon’s failures but by competence, we must show the public the image of a ruling party capable of governance," and added, "We need to start politics that offers alternatives and negotiations connected to the future for solving people’s livelihoods, not the reckless claims for political strife."
