Teenage Male Arrested for Wielding a Weapon at a Female Middle School Student in Seoul During the Holiday

Possession of 3 Bladed Weapons and 1 Hammer

A teenage boy who wielded a weapon at female middle school students after coming to Seoul during the Chuseok holiday was arrested by the police.

On the 2nd, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that Mr. A was arrested and is being investigated on charges of attempted murder and special intimidation.

Mr. A is accused of threatening and wielding a weapon at two female middle school students he had never met before on a walking trail in Yangjae-dong at around 6:10 p.m. on the 1st. One of the students injured a finger from the weapon, but it was reported that there was no life-threatening injury.

The police arrested Mr. A at a nearby playground after analyzing CCTV footage. Mr. A was found to be carrying three weapons and one hammer.

It is known that Mr. A took an express bus from Changwon, Gyeongnam, to Seoul with the intention of "harming people."

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A and investigate the specific details of the crime.
