Jo Min and Jo Guk Become Bestselling Authors Simultaneously
Jung Yura Shows Disappointment Over Park Geun-hye Interview
Cho Min, daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, and Jung Yura, daughter of Choi Seo-won, drew attention by spending completely opposite Chuseok holidays.
Recently, Cho's mother, former professor Jeong Gyeong-sim, was released on parole, and Cho's essay "I Am Moving Forward Today as Well" became a bestseller. Her father, former Minister Cho Kuk's new book "The Tears of Dike," also became a bestseller, making the father and daughter best-selling authors together.
After her essay collection topped the sales charts, Cho expressed her feelings through her YouTube channel, saying, "Father, I am sorry."
Meanwhile, speculation is growing that former Minister Cho Kuk will run in next year's general election. On the 22nd, on the show "Kim Eo-jun's Das Bweida," when asked about his intention to run, Cho said, "There is a need to restore the honor of myself and my family," adding, "The Yoon Seok-yeol government is heading far right, and as a senior official of the Moon Jae-in administration, I feel responsible."
On the other hand, Jung Yura wrote on her Facebook just before the Chuseok holiday began on the 25th, "This Chuseok, I have nowhere to go and no one to be with," adding, "I wanted to spend it with my mother, but I spent today in tears, dreaming of and longing to see her."
She also expressed disappointment regarding a recent interview in which former President Park Geun-hye expressed regret over her connection with Choi Seo-won, who was involved in the state affairs manipulation scandal, saying, "My mother remained loyal to President Park until the end."
In an interview with JoongAng Ilbo on the 26th, former President Park said, "I was very surprised to learn during the prosecution investigation that Director Choi Seo-won (who used to be a kindergarten director) was involved in operating the Mir Foundation and K-Sports Foundation," and added, "I deeply regret not refusing when Director Choi first asked, 'Shall I introduce good people to the foundation's board?'"
She further stated, "If Director Choi tried to gain private benefits through the foundation, it is my responsibility for not knowing, and my fault for misjudging the person."
