Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) visited the sea route safety operation site during the Chuseok holiday to inspect the operation status of passenger ships and other multi-use vessels.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police, Chief Kim Hae-cheol visited the Namhang Police Substation on the 29th to encourage the staff and emphasized maintaining a perfect state of readiness for emergency situations.

He then visited the Mokpo Port Passenger Terminal and the operation control room to check the movement status of island areas within the jurisdiction using maritime traffic during the holiday period, and considering weather conditions, he urged prioritizing safety in passenger ship operations.
Additionally, Chief Kim boarded the passenger ship Slo Island, which operates to Jangjado, Yuldo, and Oedaldo within the jurisdiction, and visited the wheelhouse, reiterating the importance of safety rules and compliance with vehicle loading regulations due to the increase in passenger ship users during the holiday.
Chief Kim Hae-cheol stated, “The Maritime Police will do their best to ensure safe and comfortable sea route operations for the increased number of users of passenger ships, ferries, and other multi-use vessels during the Chuseok holiday period.”
