The '2023 3rd Gangwon FC Youth Soccer Tournament' has finished recruiting participating teams and is now just days away from its grand opening.
SH Sports Agency, which has introduced various sports marketing and soccer development plans both domestically and internationally, announced on the 29th that team recruitment for the tournament has concluded. Now in its third year, the tournament will be held over two days starting from the 14th of next month at the artificial turf field of Gohan Sports Park in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
The tournament is organized as part of efforts to develop youth soccer and revitalize the economy of mining-closed areas through sports. Six teams each for kindergarten, 1st-2nd grade, 3rd-4th grade, and 5th-6th grade were recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, totaling 24 teams. Matches will be conducted as 6-a-side full leagues by grade, followed by finals divided into Classic and Challenge categories.
This tournament will feature not only matches but also various events that youth players and their parents can enjoy together. Events such as a mom lifting contest, dad long kick contest, and social media (SNS) certification events are expected to enhance the atmosphere of the youth soccer tournament.
The professional soccer club Gangwon FC stated, "We will continue to hold tournaments to promote youth soccer development and revitalize mining-closed areas, and we will strive to ensure that youth players can enjoy themselves and create happy memories together."
Moon Seonghwan, CEO of SH Sports Agency, said, "In line with the slogan of youth soccer growing together with Gangwon, we will focus on creating a youth soccer culture that is built together in the long term rather than short-term achievements. We have prepared various events that not only youth players but also parents and spectators who come together can enjoy, participate in, and heal through. We will do our best to provide enjoyment beyond just soccer."
