Chuseok Holiday Draws Attention to 'Mokpo and Sinan Unite as One' Integration

An event wishing for the integration of Mokpo and Sinan was held near the Sinan Passenger Ferry Terminal on the first day of the Chuseok holiday.

The Mokpo-Sinan Integration Promotion Committee and the Jaemok Sinan County Women's Association held a welcoming event for returning visitors on the morning of the 28th near the passenger ferry terminal, the gateway for island residents of Sinan County.

According to the Promotion Committee, the event displayed a banner reading "Supporting Mokpo-Sinan Integration" to inform Sinan expatriates visiting their hometown about the rationale for integration.

Park Hong-ryul, Mayor of Mokpo, who attended the event, said, "In the reality where regional extinction is being recognized, Mokpo and Sinan must unite to prepare for the next 100 years."

Park Woo-ryang, Governor of Sinan County, emphasized, "I am grateful to participate in this meaningful event on the first day of the Chuseok holiday," adding, "We must join forces for a bright future."
