Winning Entries Posted on City Hall Exterior from December · Prize: 500,000 KRW Cultural Gift Certificate
Busan City will accept submissions for the winter edition of the ‘Busan Culture Billboard’ text to be displayed on the exterior wall of the City Hall from October 1 to October 31.
Since its launch in 2010, the Busan Culture Billboard has been posting meaningful phrases suggested by citizens each season on the City Hall’s exterior wall, bringing a cultural atmosphere to the building and serving as an emotional communication channel with the citizens.
Anyone who loves Busan can participate in the contest. Submissions should be original texts or excerpts from literary works in Korean, containing no more than 25 characters, expressing hope, love, and warm feelings.
Applications can be made through the Busan City official website. Alternatively, applicants can fill out the application form posted in the announcement and submit it via email or postal mail. When submitting excerpts, the source must be clearly indicated.
The winning entries will be finalized through a review by the Korea Writers’ Association and, after design work, will be displayed on the City Hall’s exterior wall starting in early December.
The grand prize winner will receive a cultural gift certificate worth 500,000 KRW, and 17 runners-up will each receive a cultural gift certificate worth 50,000 KRW.
Kim Bong-cheol, Director of the Architecture and Housing Bureau, stated, “We ask for your active interest and participation in this contest so that citizens can feel hope and love through the texts.”
