The state-run IRNA news agency reported on the 27th (local time) that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps successfully launched the military-purpose satellite "Nour 3" (meaning "light" in Persian and Arabic).
He added that the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard Corps used a domestically developed launch vehicle called 'Ghaased' (meaning 'messenger' in Persian) to send the satellite into orbit.
Iran previously succeeded in placing its first military satellite, Nour 1, into orbit in April 2020.
The United States is wary that Iran's satellite launch technology could be used to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). However, Iran denies the U.S. suspicions.
