Achieving Consecutive Team Championship Wins for Two Years Following 2018
The South Korean men's foil fencing team achieved back-to-back gold medals in the Asian Games team event.
The men's foil team, consisting of Lee Kwang-hyun (Hwaseong City Hall), Ha Tae-gyu (Daejeon Urban Corporation), Heo Jun (Gwangju City Hall), and Lim Cheol-woo (Seongbuk District Office), defeated China 45-38 in the team event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games held on the 27th at the Electronic University Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.
South Korea, which won the men's foil team event for the first time in 24 years at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, secured the gold medal for the second consecutive time.
Although the men's foil team did not produce any medalists in the individual event this time, marking the first 'no medal' in the individual event in 45 years since the 1978 Bangkok Games, the four members worked together to maintain their position as the top team in Asia in the team event.
