Xiaomi, the leading brand of smart bands, announced the launch of the new ‘Mi Band 8’ series in Korea. Notably, this Xiaomi smart band series will be released in two versions: the original ‘Mi Band 8’ and the ‘Mi Band 8 Active’ model.
The Mi Band 8 supports over 150 exercise modes, a running clip mode that analyzes running data, and 24-hour health monitoring. The running clip mode is a feature used by attaching the Mi Band 8 to shoes with a dedicated accessory, professionally analyzing and compiling statistics on 13 aspects such as running stride, pace, and ground contact time. This time, in addition to the wrist strap, it is designed with a quick release mechanism to allow various straps such as clip-type accessories and necklaces to be attached.
Both the Mi Band 8 and Mi Band 8 Active support water resistance up to 50 meters, making them suitable for various leisure activities. They connect with the Mi Fitness app to monitor exercise status and posture in real time, helping users exercise with more accurate movements. Additionally, the Mi Band 8’s battery supports fast charging, reaching 100% in one hour and providing about 16 days of use in normal mode on a single full charge.
The ‘Mi Band 8 Active’ features a wider screen ratio and a soft, lightweight TPU strap, making it suitable for activities involving heavy sweating or underwater leisure sports. It is designed with a broader visible area to easily check multiple pieces of information on the wrist.
Meanwhile, a Xiaomi representative stated, “The new ‘Mi Band 8’ and ‘Mi Band 8 Active’ offer a wider variety of watch faces compared to previous models and allow real-time notification delivery from smartphones to the watch when paired. Additionally, the Active model features a 1.47” LCD FULL display, providing a large and vivid screen experience.”
