Providing Convenience for Market Visitors During Chuseok Holiday
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it will temporarily open the access road connecting the front of Yongin Jungang Market, a traditional market, to the Jungang-dong Administrative Welfare Center to improve transportation convenience for citizens visiting the market.
The city is currently widening the two-lane road, about 50 meters long and 11 meters wide, between the Yongin Jungang Market intersection and the Jungang-dong Administrative Welfare Center to 18 meters wide. The construction expands the downhill road from the Administrative Welfare Center toward Yongin Jungang Market from one lane to two lanes, creating a total of three lanes, and repaves the entire road area neatly. A diagonal crosswalk, convenient for crossing in multiple directions, has also been installed at the Yongin Jungang Market intersection.
Following this temporary opening, the city plans to officially open the road next month after reinforcing facilities such as installing traffic safety signs and applying anti-slip pavement.
A city official stated, “With many citizens expected to visit Yongin Jungang Market ahead of Chuseok, we temporarily opened the expanded road for use in advance.”
