Former Democratic Party Floor Leader's SNS on Lee Jae-myung's Dismissal
"Wishing a Good Recovery and Strong Leadership for the Party"
Former Democratic Party floor leader Park Hong-geun stated on the 27th regarding the decision to dismiss the arrest warrant for Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, "When the two words we had been desperately waiting for appeared on the screen, the lawmakers in front of Seoul Detention Center embraced each other and their eyes welled up with tears."
Former floor leader Park Hong-geun wrote on social media (SNS) that day, "Thank you to the citizens and party members who have been watching earnestly. The truth has always prevailed and will prevail again," adding, "Leader Lee Jae-myung, who endured, you really worked hard. I believe you will recover your health well and lead the party effectively."
Meanwhile, on the 27th, Judge Yoo Chang-hoon, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, dismissed the arrest warrant requested by the prosecution after conducting a pre-arrest suspect hearing (warrant examination) for Leader Lee Jae-myung.
Judge Yoo stated, "Considering the necessity of guaranteeing the suspect's right to defense and the degree of concern for evidence tampering, it is difficult to see the reasons and necessity for detention to the extent that the principle of non-detention investigation should be excluded for the suspect."
