The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 26th that it conducted the 2023 comprehensive emergency rescue drill at Botjae Complex Cultural Space located on Nokcha-ro, Boseong-gun.
This drill was conducted under the assumption that a magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred, causing partial collapse of the Botjae Complex Cultural Space building and a fire outbreak.
The drill focused on inspecting the operation status of the Emergency Rescue Control Team and emergency rescue support agencies in response to a complex disaster caused by the earthquake.
By operating the control team, they checked the systematic emergency rescue response system including disaster situation judgment meetings, situation report preparation, press briefings, and mobilized resource management.
Additionally, they applied a disaster command system identical to actual disaster response methods, emphasizing the development of disaster response systems through organic cooperation among civilian, government, and military sectors.
Chief Hong Young-geun stated, “We will strengthen our response capabilities to complex disaster situations through drills that simulate real scenarios,” and added, “We will continue to maintain cooperation among emergency rescue support agencies through repetitive training in the future.”
