After mentioning "See you soon" on SNS, deleted
NS Home Shopping says "Nothing confirmed"
Home shopping host Jung Yoon-jung, who was indefinitely banned from appearing on Hyundai Home Shopping after using profanity during a live broadcast, is drawing attention as to whether she will return to home shopping after six months.
Known as a popular host who continues to achieve sold-out sales, Jung became frustrated in January when the product she was selling sold out but she could not end the broadcast. At the time, Jung expressed her dissatisfaction with profanity during the live broadcast, saying, "XX, I was trying to go out," which led to viewer complaints.
She also complained about a travel product broadcast scheduled afterward, saying, "Travel products are only broadcast for a fixed amount of time. Lee, why travel again?"
During the broadcast, as viewer complaints continued in real time and the production team signaled her to correct herself, Jung nonchalantly said, "Should I make a correction? I'm good at corrections," and added, "Sometimes I use inappropriate language during broadcasts, sorry, but please see it as entertainment. Shouldn't home shopping enter the entertainment era?" which further fueled the controversy.
After the broadcast, numerous complaints regarding Jung's profanity were filed with the Korea Communications Standards Commission. Although Jung tried to resolve the issue by apologizing personally, she was indefinitely banned from appearing by Hyundai Home Shopping and was effectively expelled from the industry.
However, on the 25th, Money Today reported that NS Home Shopping held a meeting last week regarding the scheduling of product broadcasts with 'Nature & Nature,' a cosmetics company where Jung serves as vice president.
Jung personally visited the NS Home Shopping headquarters, and the MD team tentatively scheduled related products. It is known that the review team is currently examining the matter. Nature & Nature, where Jung Yoon-jung is vice president, primarily manufactures, wholesales, and conducts e-commerce for cosmetics and natural soaps.
In fact, on the 13th, Jung hinted at her return to host activities by posting on her SNS mentioning an overseas cosmetics brand and writing, "See you soon." The post was soon deleted, seemingly aware of negative reactions.
NS Home Shopping, which is known to have held meetings regarding the cosmetics brand Jung mentioned, stated that Jung's appearance has not been decided.
Meanwhile, Jung was known as the 'Sold-Out Queen' in the home shopping industry and wielded considerable influence. In 2017, on MBN's 'Cart Show,' she introduced herself by saying, "Whenever I sell, I sell 10,000 units, so my nickname changed to 'Manpan-nyeo' (Sold-Out Queen)." When asked if she earned 4 billion won annually, Jung did not disclose the exact amount but acknowledged, "I earn the most in the industry."
