Throughout the Seongryu Cultural Festival, the nationwide 21st Uljin Bongpyeong-ri Silla Stele Calligraphy Contest, the 5th Uljin National Classical Chinese Poetry Writing Contest, the residents’ folk janggi (Korean chess) competition, and writing, calligraphy, and drawing contests for elementary, middle, and high school students will be held, promising a special experience for tourists and residents who love the arts.

Jang Gyeong-hee, Director of the Culture and Tourism Division, said, “The 47th Seongryu Cultural Festival, combining diverse cultural events, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and special traditional cultural performances, will not only enhance the image of ‘Uljin, a New Hope through Harmony’ but also create a high-quality cultural festival that serves as a grand stage for unity involving all residents. We will do our best to prepare for this.” She also encouraged active participation from the residents.
