Kim In-chang, Chief Superintendent of the West Sea Coast Guard Agency, noted that this Chuseok holiday is expected to see an increase in travelers and tourists moving to islands via passenger ships due to the extended holiday period. He visited Namgang Dock, which operates in the Sinan island area, to conduct an inspection of passenger ship safety management.
He then visited Amtae Police Substation, responsible for maritime security in the Sinan area, to commend the frontline workers on duty during the Chuseok holiday and urged them to strengthen emergency preparedness and safety patrols during the holiday period to ensure a safe holiday without accidents.
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency has established a special maritime safety management plan for the 23-day Chuseok holiday period from the 11th of last month to the 3rd of next month. The agency plans to do its utmost in maritime safety management by deploying patrol vessels in advance along multi-use vessel routes and intensifying coastal area patrols.
