Operation of Unfair Fare Reporting Center
On the 26th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will operate a food market and a direct sales market for agricultural and specialty products during the '2023 Namsadang Baudeogi Festival,' which opens on the 6th of next month.
The food market will be held at the Old Market, Joomak Street, and Fountain Square within Anseong Matchum Land, with 28 vendors participating. The market will feature Korean dishes such as gukbap, yukgaejang, galbitang, and traditional rice cakes made with Anseong’s specialty products, as well as Japanese, Western, and street foods. Additionally, there will be world cuisine booths where visitors can enjoy delicacies from various countries.
Along with operating the market, the city will implement ▲a complaint center for unfair pricing and food-related inconveniences ▲placement of menu boards for pre-agreed menus at each market stall ▲advance disclosure of food prices through the festival website and SNS. The food sales will also restrict the use of disposable items, and visitors who bring their own containers will receive a 1,000 KRW discount on beverage purchases.
The direct sales market for agricultural and specialty products will be set up at the festival entrance. A total of 57 entities, including local agricultural producers, producer organizations, corporations, and the agricultural cooperative, will participate to sell regional agricultural specialties at prices lower than market rates.
Items for sale include rice, pears, ginseng, livestock products, grains, and chili peppers. The market will support free delivery, parking lot delivery, and card payments. Customers who purchase over 50,000 KRW will also receive a separate shopping bag.
A city official said, "We hope that the abundant food and entertainment prepared at the event venue will not only strengthen Anseong’s brand but also serve as another catalyst for revitalizing the local economy."
