GC Green Cross Wellbeing, a company specializing in personalized nutrition solutions, announced on the 26th the launch of 'PNT Proteoglycan,' which helps support joint and cartilage health. PNT (Personalized Nutrition Therapy) is a personalized health functional food brand tailored to different life stages, developed based on GC Green Cross Wellbeing's expertise.
PNT Proteoglycan uses salmon nasal cartilage extract powder as its main ingredient, which aids joint and cartilage health. The company emphasized that the content amount is the highest in the domestic product manufacturing report standard, at 30 mg. The salmon nasal cartilage extract powder consists of proteoglycan and type II collagen. Proteoglycan is a major component accounting for about 10% of joint cartilage and is a complete complex composed of over 100 chondroitin molecules, hyaluronic acid, core proteins, and more. It acts as a buffer between joints and cells, absorbing shocks applied to the cartilage to prevent cartilage damage. Additionally, 13 sub-ingredients that help joint health, including Eucommia ulmoides complex (recorded in Donguibogam and Bonchojeonghwa as effective for arthritis), chondroitin, N-acetylglucosamine (NAG), Boswellia, and dietary sulfur (MSM), are blended together.
A representative from GC Green Cross Wellbeing stated, “According to the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service, as of 2021, there are 4 million patients with degenerative arthritis, and the number is steadily increasing every year. In response to the middle-aged and elderly population’s growing interest in joint health during old age, we have launched a product that can protect joint cartilage health with a small tablet taken once daily.”
