Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu, Bukbu Police Station, and the Korea Drone Association join hands to create a safe city.
On the 26th, Buk-gu announced on the 25th that it will sign a "Business Agreement for Establishing a Safe Security Environment Using Drones" with Bukbu Police Station and the Korea Drone Association at the Bukbu Police Station conference room.
This agreement ceremony was prepared to actively respond to "abnormal motive crimes," which have recently emerged as a social issue and heightened residents' anxiety, by utilizing drone infrastructure from Buk-gu and the private sector, and to promote residents' safety through support for various investigations such as missing person cases.
Accordingly, Buk-gu will share drone operation technology and accumulated experience, including the "drone control vehicle" funded this year and the "drone administrative information system" to be introduced in December, while the Korea Drone Association will support various personnel and equipment.
A Buk-gu official said, "We are honored to utilize the technological capabilities accumulated through the drone project activation focused on since the 7th local government term for regional security," adding, "We will continue to actively communicate with Bukbu Police Station and the local community to do our best to create a safe Buk-gu for residents."
Cha Bok-young, chief of Bukbu Police Station, said, "As society becomes more complex and diversified, violent crimes targeting unspecified many, such as abnormal motive crimes, are increasing," and added, "We will strive to maintain security through active cooperation with Buk-gu Office."
