Additional Benefits for Extra Point Provision
It will now be possible to make on-site payments with Samsung Pay using the Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) method through Naver Pay points or prepaid funds.
On the 25th, Naver Financial announced that Naver Pay Money (prepaid funds) and points have been introduced as payment methods for Samsung Pay's on-site payment service.
Accordingly, Naver Pay users can use their Naver Pay Money and points at offline merchants nationwide that accept BC Card payments.
Additional benefits are also provided for users. When making Samsung Pay on-site payments with Naver Pay Money or points via the Naver Pay application, users can play the 'Point Draw' one more time. Up to three point draws are possible with a single payment.
Furthermore, until October 31, all users who use Samsung Pay payments with Naver Pay Money or points will receive a bonus equal to the amount of points drawn. Among them, 100 users randomly selected daily will receive 100 times the points drawn.
Support for user convenience has also been enhanced. A Samsung Pay payment widget function utilizing Naver Pay Money and points is provided. Naver Pay users under the age of 19, who have limited access to credit cards, can use Samsung Pay functions if they have a Galaxy device. When paying with Naver Pay Money, which is prepaid funds, users can also receive income tax deduction benefits without needing to request a cash receipt from the payment destination.
This service can be used by updating the Naver Pay app to the latest version on Galaxy devices that support Samsung Pay. The Naver app is expected to support this as early as November.
Meanwhile, this service was promoted in collaboration with BC Card, a partner of Naver Pay's on-site payment services such as QR payments and overseas payments. BC Card is responsible for processing Samsung Pay payments using Naver Pay Money and points. Together with BC Card, Naver Pay is also preparing to launch a domestic and international dual-use prepaid card based on Naver Pay Money and points within this year.
A Naver Pay representative said, "As Naver Pay Money and points become available at all offline BC Card merchants nationwide, they will become a more preferred payment method for users. We will continue efforts to reflect users' demands in our services and develop into the most chosen service for every moment when payment is needed."
