Actors Jung Woo and Han Ye-ri will serve as jurors for the Actor of the Year Award at this year's Busan International Film Festival, the festival organizers announced on the 24th.
The Actor of the Year Award was established in 2014 to discover promising new actors with the potential to lead the future of Korean cinema. It is awarded to one outstanding male and one outstanding female rookie actor who have delivered the most impressive performances among Korean feature independent films selected in the New Currents and Korean Cinema Today - Vision sections.
The winners receive a prize of 5 million KRW, and Jung Woo and Han Ye-ri will present the awards. The two actors will also host the closing ceremony, marking the finale of this year's Busan International Film Festival. At the closing ceremony, they will welcome guests alongside Nam Dong-cheol, Acting Executive Director, and Kang Seung-ah, Acting Chairperson of the Steering Committee.
The 28th Busan International Film Festival will be held from the 4th to the 13th of next month around the Busan Cinema Center.
