Chuseok Holiday Family-Friendly Performances Line Up
How about watching a performance during the six-day holiday?
Ulsan Culture and Arts Center (Director Ma Dong-cheol) announced on the 25th that it has prepared a variety of performances that families can enjoy together during the Chuseok holiday period.
This Chuseok performance was arranged so that families can spend a meaningful Chuseok by watching performances together during the relatively long holiday period, which includes a temporary holiday and National Foundation Day.
First, the fairy tale ballet dance drama "Red Riding Hood," produced as part of child and youth crime prevention education, will be performed on the main stage three times: at 7:30 PM on September 27, the day before the holiday, and at 2 PM and 5 PM on September 28.
With a classic fairy tale story, musical-like music, and dancers' comical gestures, it provides children with nonstop fun. It is also known to be an educationally excellent performance as it incorporates the concept of child crime prevention.
The "Film Music Concert with Gemma Kim and Ensemble Odeum" will take place at 5 PM on the 30th in the main performance hall.
This performance, featuring "Ensemble Odeum," composed of top domestic musicians, and popera singer Gemma Kim, is designed to reinterpret familiar movie OSTs with classical arrangements, making it easy and enjoyable for the audience.
Explanations about the films and music are added to provide the audience with an opportunity to empathize together. Viewers can watch live music while seeing footage from popular films such as Cinema Paradiso and Spirited Away.
"Cat Troubleshooter Kkamnyang" will be held in the small performance hall from the 30th to October 1st.
This character musical performance is based on a bestseller with over 500,000 copies sold and offers a great cultural outing for children and families staying in Ulsan.
An official from Ulsan Culture and Arts Center said, "We appreciate the hard work of the performers who strive to present good performances to citizens even during the holiday period," and added, "We hope many citizens will attend and have a meaningful holiday."
