On the 24th, Kim Sun-woo finished in second place behind Zhang Mingyu (China) in the women's individual event held at the Puyang Inhu Sports Center in Hangzhou, China.
This was the first medal overall for the South Korean delegation at this competition.
The modern pentathlon is an event where one athlete competes in fencing, swimming, equestrian, and laser-run (running + shooting).
Kim Sun-woo, a gold medalist in the team event at the 2014 Incheon Games, followed her bronze medal in the individual event at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games by securing a medal for the third consecutive time at the Asian Games.
