Support for Installation of Flood Prevention Facilities at Parking Entrances, Warehouses, Boiler Rooms
Applications Open Until October 6...Up to 2 Million KRW for Single-Family Homes, Up to 10 Million KRW for Multi-Family Housing
Park Junhui, Gwanak-gu Mayor: 'Prioritizing Residents' Safety and Thoroughly Preparing for Disaster Prevention'
Low-lying houses and basements vulnerable to flood damage can suffer from flooding due to surface water inflow during heavy rain.
In response, Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is strengthening support for the installation of flood prevention facilities in buildings to prevent flood damage and create a "Safe City Gwanak" where residents can live with peace of mind.
The district has been providing free installation of flood prevention facilities such as water barriers for low-lying basement houses.
Additionally, in February, the district enacted the "Gwanak-gu Flood Prevention Facility Installation Support Ordinance," establishing a legal basis for supporting the installation of flood prevention facilities at locations not previously covered for free installation, such as parking lot entrances, storage rooms, and boiler rooms.
Recently, through the first supplementary budget, the district secured 200 million KRW in project funds and plans to accept applications from houses at risk of flooding, supporting up to 90% of the installation costs for flood damage prevention facilities.
The support amount is up to 2 million KRW for single-family houses and up to 10 million KRW for multi-family housing.
The application period is until 6:00 PM on October 6, and eligible applicants are owners or representatives of single-family or multi-family houses located in Gwanak-gu that are at risk of flooding.
Those wishing to apply can visit the Gwanak-gu Office Water Management Division in person or apply by phone followed by email.
Detailed information can be found in the announcement posted under "Notices" on the Gwanak-gu Office website.
The district plans to conduct on-site inspections and comprehensively consider factors such as whether vulnerable groups like the disabled or elderly reside there and whether flood damage has occurred, to select the final support recipients in October.
Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "Residents concerned about flood damage are encouraged to actively install prevention facilities through this project," adding, "The district will prioritize residents' safety and will do its utmost to support all disaster prevention efforts with full administrative power."
