Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that it will begin full-scale influenza (flu) vaccination to prepare for the winter flu season.
The national influenza vaccination support program targets ▲children from 6 months to under 13 years old ▲pregnant women ▲and seniors aged 65 and over, administering the quadrivalent influenza vaccine.
Children under 9 years old who are receiving the influenza vaccine for the first time or have only one previous vaccination will receive two doses at 4-week intervals starting from September 20. Other children under 13 years old and pregnant women will be vaccinated sequentially from October 5, and seniors aged 65 and over will begin from October 11.
Vaccinations can be administered at 38 local public health centers and designated medical institutions within the county, as well as at public health centers and designated influenza vaccination medical institutions nationwide regardless of the recipient’s address.
Designated medical institutions can be checked on the Hampyeong-gun Office website and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s vaccination helper site.
Additionally, from October 25, free vaccinations will be provided at local public health centers for vulnerable groups among Hampyeong residents aged 14 to 64 who are not eligible for national support, including basic livelihood security recipients, national merit recipients, and residents of social welfare facilities. General residents can receive vaccinations for a fee of 11,000 KRW.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “Since influenza is currently spreading continuously, we hope everyone actively participates in vaccination to prevent the spread of the flu.”
