The pilot operation, which runs until the 30th of next month, is applied to deliveries between Kyochon Chicken Konkuk University Branch and Konkuk University. It involves delivering orders within Konkuk University using robots. The robot used for the service is Newbility’s autonomous delivery robot ‘Newbee.’ Newbee is a camera-based autonomous delivery robot, evaluated as a model that combines both cost-effectiveness and performance. It is known for its stable driving ability and excellent recognition technology, while also being a cost-efficient model due to optimized technology.

Orders can be placed through ‘Newbee Order,’ a B2C ordering system specialized for robot delivery. Customers can access the KakaoTalk channel ‘Newbee Order Konkuk University Campus’ and send delivery orders to designated locations within the Konkuk University campus. Upon receiving an order, Newbee autonomously goes to the Kyochon Chicken Konkuk University Branch to pick up the chicken and then delivers it to the location specified in the order.

Kyochon plans to proactively verify the applicability of autonomous delivery robots to franchise stores before commercialization through this pilot operation. Once autonomous delivery robots are commercialized, store operation efficiency can be greatly improved by reducing labor costs and alleviating delivery workforce shortages.

A Kyochon F&B official said, “Autonomous delivery robots provide a differentiated customer experience while significantly enhancing store operation efficiency,” adding, “Through pre-commercialization demonstrations, we will proactively prepare for the upcoming era of autonomous delivery robots.”
