Support Provided to Social Welfare Facility in Jongam-dong to Ensure a Warm Chuseok
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) Jongam-dong Community Service Center (Director Lee Gi-won) held a delivery ceremony for Chuseok holiday food packages on the 21st.
This holiday food package sharing event was organized to support the meals of marginalized groups in welfare blind spots. The Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Chairman Park Jong-seok) prepared 800 servings of holiday food ingredients as packages and delivered them to the Jongam-dong Community Service Center. Jongam-dong then distributed the donated packages to social welfare facilities located in Jongam-dong, sharing warm kindness.
The holiday food packages consisted of beef, dried pollack, glass noodles, jeon (Korean pancakes), and snacks. This sharing activity is a representative social contribution of the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business and has been ongoing since 2021, when face-to-face support was difficult due to COVID-19.
At the delivery ceremony, Seongbuk-gu Mayor Lee Seung-ro, Seongbuk-gu Council Chairman Oh Jung-gyun, as well as Park Jong-seok, Chairman of the Seoul Federation of Small and Medium Business, and Kim Dong-sik, Vice Chairman of the Seoul Small and Medium Business Cooperative Association, attended, making it a meaningful time to spread and reflect on the meaning of neighborly love in the local community.
Seongbuk-gu Mayor Lee Seung-ro expressed gratitude, saying, “Today’s event, extending a warm hand to marginalized neighbors in celebration of the Chuseok holiday, was more meaningful than ever.”
Seongbuk-gu Council Chairman Oh Jung-gyun said, “This Chuseok holiday in Seongbuk-gu seems to be more fulfilling than usual. I hope everyone has a warm and happy Chuseok.”
Park Jong-seok, Chairman of the Seoul Federation of Small and Medium Business, said, “The holiday food packages are gifts of love prepared with donations collected bit by bit from small and medium enterprises and small business owners to share a joyful holiday with the local community,” adding, “The Seoul small and medium business sector will continue to strive to fulfill its social responsibility to create a warm society.”
