Completion of a total of 32 hours of training including cultivation methods and advanced site visits
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 22nd that it held the '2023 Jirisan Sancheong Gotgam Production Technology Training Completion Ceremony' at the Deoksan Cultural Center auditorium in Sicheon-myeon.
The completion ceremony was attended by Lee Seunghwa, the county governor, Jung Myungsun, chairman of the Sancheong County Council, county council members, Park Sujeong, president of the Jirisan Sancheong Gotgam Producers Association, and about 80 trainees.

The training, which took place over 8 weeks (a total of 32 hours) starting from the 2nd of last month, covered various production technologies for premium gotgam cultivation, including techniques for cultivating astringent persimmons, pest and disease management, and premium gotgam manufacturing and processing technologies.
In addition, various activities such as field learning at outstanding gotgam production farms and visits to advanced sites were conducted.
In particular, the well-structured curriculum and meticulous lessons by an excellent faculty were evaluated to have increased the satisfaction of the trainees.
The trainees unanimously said, “It was a great opportunity to acquire gotgam cultivation techniques aligned with the latest trends and to gain a broader perspective,” and “It served as a chance to strengthen networks through exchanges with other trainees, including gotgam farmers.”
Governor Lee said, “I applaud the trainees who showed enthusiasm by attending the training every week despite their busy schedules and the hot weather,” adding, “I hope this training will lead to a practical increase in income through strengthening the capabilities of gotgam-producing farms.”
